Pirates Impact Description

Ahoy, captain! Step into the chaos of Pirates Impact, a pixel art bullet hell game.

 Your mission

  1. Control Your Ship: Use your mouse to navigate your pirate ship through a storm of enemy bullets.
  2. Avoid & Destroy: Dodge incoming fire and take down enemy ships to clear your path.
  3. Collect Upgrades: Buy upgrades before each run. These upgrades will appear randomly during your adventure. Destroy enemy ships to collect them.
  4. Equip Your Ship: Visit pitstops during your run to equip up to 5 collected upgrades and bolster your ship's power.
  5. Gather Resources: Collect coins to spend on future upgrades, rack up points to climb the leaderboards, and find health packs to stay afloat.
  6. Run & Reset: Each run is a fresh start, keeping your coins and bought upgrades, but resetting everything else.

 About the Game

While we're quite experienced devs primarily working in Unity, this was our first time developing in Godot. Code and art are 100% self made, music and sfx partially ours. We had grand plans (as always), but time was short. Join the fray, fight for glory, and see how you stack up against other pirates worldwide!

Set sail and embrace the consequences in Pirates Impact!

Very fun little game! I use a mac, so godot webgames basically *never* work for me, but your game did, did you include mac support deliberately, and if so how? Few comments/suggestions: The first boat you shoot down each run generates a lot of lag. The boss tentacle hitboxes don't quite line up with the sprite (I had bullets go through without hitting), and somehow I ended up buying more items at the shop than I could afford, and got to negative money, but I couldn't recreate that bug so I'm not sure what caused it.

Thanks for playing! It was our first game jam using godot. We've used Godot 4.2.2 and didn't specifically include mac support - positive side effect :-)

The lag is probably due to our inexperience in loading godot assets. Thank you for all reported bugs!
